Code of ethics

Originally established by an experienced solicitor, Kin Probate is based on tried and tested principles of accountability and transparency. Our aim is to be the genealogist of choice; the long-term partner solicitors and the public sector turn to when looking to overcome problems arising from the death of an individual.

We provide a range of services, some of which are free, all of which are designed to resolve problems both in the UK or abroad.

We look to cultivate a long-term relationship that is based on candour and understanding.

As part of this programme we look to meet and share our expertise and knowledge as far as possible through our Kinform programme.

Meet the team

James Gartland

Managing Director

James worked for over 10 years for large national law firms. He combines a zeal for justice with a keen interest in social history and genealogy. James’ genealogy expertise has been called upon in high value litigated matters.

Outside of work James is a committed husband and father, keeping a close eye on his own kin, a young son and two daughters. When the chance arises James is keen to don his lycra and take on the tarmac on his bike or attempt to blast out Bohemian Rhapsody on his beloved piano.

Hazel Saunders

Senior Case Manager

Hazel joined Kin Probate in 2019. Having undertaken genealogy projects as a pastime for several years Hazel didn’t hesitate to switch careers when the opportunity arose. She thoroughly enjoys the investigative nature of her job.

She regularly gets involved in raising money for charity and this has led Hazel to undertake a variety of projects most notably helping to build an orphanage in South Africa. At home Hazel is kept busy with her two children and uses any spare time to indulge in crafting or reading.

Lynsay Curran

Case Manager

Lynsay joined the world of genealogy after a wealth of experience in the engineering and ecology sectors and after taking some time out of work to raise 3 young daughters.

She is very sociable and enjoys making new connections, a self-confessed coffee addict and a “Swiftie”; she spends any precious child-free time with her head in a good book enjoying some peace.

Lisa Constanti

Consultant

Lisa has more than 10 years experience in researching genealogy in the UK and Cyprus. She has studied for a Masters degree in Genealogical, Palaeographic and Heraldic Studies and for her degree she has written extensively on her Scottish political hero, Mary Barbour.

Lisa has experience in researching the village her family come from in Karpasia, Cyprus. She is currently writing a book on the family history of an occupied village in Cyprus. If that wasn’t enough, she is a mother of three, Research Officer for the Cambridgeshire & Huntingdonshire Family History Society, volunteers at the local archives and takes gravestone photos in her spare time!
